About the Farm

Welcome to Five Petal Farm!

A little about me - My name is Jenn and I am the owner and operator of Five Petal Farm. I have a degree in Botany from the University of Iowa and have been a sustainable farmer, botanist and all around creative soul for much of my adult life.

I grow specialty flowers for local weddings, my flower CSA, farmers' markets, florists and other special events. I offer flower and herb bouquets and buckets that can be ordered online (locally - during growing season) and I also offer flowers locally through my CSA Subscription Program. (Serving North Liberty, Iowa City, Coralville, Solon, Tiffin and the surrounding areas.)

Did you know that most of the flowers sold in the United States (approximately 70 - 80%) are imported and grown using harmful chemicals? They spend so much time being transported from other countries that by the time you get them home, the flowers only last a few days. When you buy flower and herb bouquets from Five Petal Farm, I guarantee they are freshly harvested and that no chemicals have been used. Their aroma is oh-so-intoxicating and the best part? My flowers and herbs are recyclable! When the bouquets are almost spent, you can wrap a ribbon around the stems, hang them upside down to dry and re-use for dried arrangements, home decor, crafting, wreath-making and more.

My urban farm is small but mighty! I grow on less than 1/4 acre of land so I try to utilize as much as I can on our small urban space. As a sustainable farmer, it's important to me to be as eco-friendly as possible. I use recyclable Kraft paper bags and boxes and 90-100% recycled cardboard mailers for my packaging. I recycle just about everything and any garden waste left over is composted and re-applied to my garden beds for the following year or taken to a larger composting facility. There is so much to be done everyday, but I love every minute of it!
